Meridian, Idaho
Meridian is located in Southwest Idaho in Ada County and is the second largest city in the U.S. State of Idaho. Meridian has, for over 25 years now, been the fastest growing city in Idaho. In 2011, the city was selected as one of the 100 best communities for young people. The city has 17 public parks. The city also has an all-volunteer 70-member symphony orchestra.

History Of Meridian - Timeline
In 1880, the farmers lived in what they called the town of Hunter, and the first school opened in 1885 and Meridian was established in 1891. The Zenger family have a big part in the history of Meridian. The original town site belonged to Christian and Eliza Zenger, who had received their land grants in 1891 and 1892 by President Benjamin Harrison. Christian and Eliza Zenger were the proprietor of the new town. In 1893, it got its name Meridian. In 1897, the first creamery was established.
In 1900, there were 200 people living in the village. Meridian was incorporated as a village in 1903 with a population of approximately 200. In 1905, the Halbert F. and Grace Neal House was built. In 1906, the Meridian Exchange Bank building was completed. In 1907, the Tolleth House was constructed.
In 1908, the railway connected Meridian with other towns. In 1912, the interurban Station and Generator building was built. In 1913, the E. F. Hunt House was completed. In 1922, the R. H. and Jessie Bell House was built. In 1928, the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company Building was completed.
In 1929, the Meridian Creamery was established and the largest annual parade, Meridian Dairy Days, began to celebrate the opening of the Meridian Creamery. The celebration has around 30,000 attendees every year. In 1930, the baseball pitcher, Vernon Sanders was born in the city. In 1933, the United States Post Office and Courthouse building was completed.
In the 1940's the city was the home of a large fruit growing, packing and shipping industry. In 1941, Meridian's status changed from a village to a city. In 1980, the film Bronco Billy with Clint Eastwood was partially filmed in the city. In 1988, the American football player, Tyler Shoemaker, was born in the city. Since 1994, Meridian has been the fastest growing city in the state.
