Beyoncé: "I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss"
From "Say My Name" to "Drunk in Love", Beyoncé has taken the entertainment industry by storm and nothing is stopping her. Now, Beyoncé is gracing the covers of Time Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People, just one year after her husband and music mogul, Jay-Z, received the same honor.
Many would ask "how come Beyoncé is one of the most influential people in USA?" or "what was her contribution to the world for her to even make it on the list?" Haters, of course, will not agree that she did contribute and influence a lot of people to believe that they can do anything. Being influential means that you have the power to cause change, whether it's within or you have influenced someone to change and be the person he/she is destined to be.
Beyoncé received praise from Facebook's COO and founder of LeanIn.org, Sheryl Sandberg. She said "Beyoncé raises her voice both on- and offstage to urge women to be independent and lead" and according to her, Beyoncé's secret to success is "hard work, honesty and authenticity". She was also asked, "What would you do if you weren't afraid?" which Beyoncé responded with "watch me. I'm about to do it," and added "you can, too."
National Voice Of The USA
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carteris one of the most influential people in USA that there's a college course named after her. She surprised her fellow celebrities and her fans during her performances at the 2014 Grammy Awards and 2014 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. When she performs, it's always an event to look forward to. It's something that you wouldn't want to miss.
Beyoncé's influence can be seen whenever she steps on a stage, no matter how small or big it is. People have seen how much Beyoncé grew as a performer. She grows with her music. Her concerts are always sold out; a great example would be her comeback concert, "Mrs. Carter Show World Tour".
With just that, it proves that she really is influential. She still remains as the reigning national voice of the USA. People think that once a woman becomes a mother and a wife, she should end her career. But Beyoncé is stating the exact opposite. She's a full-time mother while she did her concert just months after she conceived. She wants to make every woman feel that they can "run the world".
Beyoncé Is A Feminist Icon
Yes, Beyoncé is a feminist icon. She urges women to be their own person because women are both powerful and sexy, and should not be defined by the society dominated by men. Beyoncé is not an icon because she's a great artist and a model mother, but because she exudes a strong belief in herself and the value of her work. She's committed in her responsibility as an icon.
She's someone worth having around because she teaches everyone to believe in themselves and not the label people in the society have. That's why Beyoncé is one of the most influential people in USA and that's how having the power to cause change affects people.
