Lady Gaga
Eccentric artistry flaunted through outrageous outfits and provocative stage performances made Lady Gaga (real name Stefanie Germnotta) to shine brightly in the international music scene. Her life is aimed at pushing the boundaries of pop culture. She shares the same sentiment as pop artist Andy Warhol, who aimed to use social media to transform the human experience.
Aside from music, fashion is also a major player in Lady Gaga's life. This love is influenced by her mother, whom she described as always beautiful and very well kept. Outfits worn by Lady Gaga are a mix of Haus of Gaga's (her own team) creations, high couture designers such as Armani, Gucci and Chanel and budding designers from all over the world.
Lady Gaga Began To Play The Piano
Gaga began her story as a musical prodigy at the age of 17, when she started playing the piano at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She grew up in a conservative Catholic environment where she became very studious, dedicated and disciplined, but also a bit insecure. Her present persona is a form of breaking loose after years of confining her unusual creativity within her.
She started appearing in Lower East Side club scenes where she found herself amidst singers and songwriters trapped in the same style bubble. Wanting to be unique and better, she decided to captivate the music scene by being an exhibitionist and a theatrical performer. Her aim to reform pop music appears to be unwaveringly on its way since the release of her multi-platinum albums The Fame and The Fame Monster. Additionally, since her highly applauded duet with Elton John at the 52nd Grammy Awards, the five-time Grammy-winner came out as one of the top-selling artists of the music industry with a dedicated throng of fans called "Little Monsters".
Lady Gaga - "Radio Ga Ga"
Lady Gaga's inspiration comes from dance music divas like Madonna and Grace Jones, rock legends like David Bowie and Michael Jackson. Rob Fusari, Lady Gaga's music producer, always associates her vocal style to Freddie Mercury so he brought something out of Queen's song "Radio Ga Ga" that perfectly suited the image Stefanie wanted.
Gaga's approach to music and performance is not just about what happens on the stage. For example, she does not see the need to have her picture taken only to make her feel that she is in a moment of art, because according to her, her whole life is a performance piece. As what life should be, she recounts that any good performance should flow out easily and over-thinking about its process makes it flow out the wrong way. She also stated that she decides where the stage begins and ends, and would never let anyone tell her how or when she can perform.
Lady Gaga sometimes literally takes her motto 'life is a performance' when she tries to live up the ante every day. She is mostly seen in outlandish costumes not only on-stage but in her day-to-day life. She admits sleeping in her costumes, in high heels and even wears make up during sleep seven days a week.
